Sidewalk chalk on the roof?

This afternoon for a change of scenery I decided to take the kids up to our roof to scribble and draw with some sidewalk chalk.  The kids loved it - something new to play with, I loved it - I could lounge and watch the kids for a little bit, and the kids really loved it when I gave them water to wash it all away with.  Once they were done with the sidewalk chalk they hunted and inspected ants and bees.

In school Mikey has been learning about bees, worms, ants, butterflies, flowers, etc so he is really into inspecting everything that's outside right now.  He loved trying to pick up the ants which usually resulted in him smushing them, and he'd start the hunt all over again, searching for another poor little ant.  Katie was pretty interested too and joined in the ant hunt.

Trying out each chair.

Sunning.

Our view from the top over looking Upper East Side, Mid Town and Lower Manhattan.

Lots of pictures drawn!

Katie just wanted to color with the newest pieces of chalk.

Searching for ants.

Me relaxing!
