They said What?!

The kids have been so funny and some of the things they say is hilarious:

Mommy: Katie did you hit Mikey?
Katie:  No, I punched him!

Katie:  Just a few more couple minutes.
She says this whenever she wants to stay up later or play with her toys more.

From her teacher.  While planting a plant at school the teacher said you have to tuck the plant into the dirt and press the dirt gently around it.  Katie said while tucking in her plant: Nite nite plant.

Mikey when he saw me in my dress for the wedding: Wow Mom.  You look perfect! Beautiful!

Mikey when I hopped in the shower with him with a shower cap on: Is that so you don't ruin your pretty hair?!

Mikey when I say yes to him or give him what he wants: You're the best Mom ever!!!!!!!!! (Followed by a hug and a kiss!)

Mommy:  Katie, you're not my little baby anymore.  You're such a big girl!
Katie:No I'm not.  I'm just a little big kid!

Things that come out of a two year old's mouth

Tonight Scott had a work function after work so he didn't get home until really late which meant that I was on my own for dinner, baths, and bed.  Since the days seem a little longer when Scott works late, I try to extend everything we do.

The kids ended up taking a longer than usual bath.  I think it was at least 30 minutes maybe a few minutes longer that they were submersed in water.  Once we were done and I was ready to get them out of the tub Katie looked at her hands and noticed they looked all wrinkled and shriveled up.

Katie: (Looking at me with concern and with big puppy dog eyes and a whimpering mouth.  Although she didn't say anything I knew what she was thinking.)

Jess:  "Oh, Katie.  It's okay.  You were in the tub so long that your fingers got all wrinkled.  It's just from the water.  As soon as we get you all dried off and wait a few minutes your fingers will be back to normal."

Katie (While looking at her hands and fingers and shaking them to try and get the wrinkles off):  "Eeeehhhhh"

Jess (In hindsight, probably not the best thing to say at this point):  "Katie, your fingers are all wrinkles up.  Let's look at your toes.  Do you think they are all wrinkled too?"

Katie (Sitting in the tub, takes her foot out of the water and looks at the bottom of her foot and she just completely loses it as soon as she sees her wrinkled foot!)

Once we got her dried off and in PJ's and read two books, she looked at her hands and said "All better Mamma!"

Funny Phrases

Scenario 1:
Mikey:  "I am sick of Katie.  You need to return her!"

Jess:  "Mikey, that is not a nice thing to say.  Why are you sick of Katie.  Where am I supposed to return her too?"

Mikey:  "Well, I don't care.  Take her back to the mail box!"

Scenario 2- courtesy of my mom while the kids were at my parents home.

The kids sleep on these soft bed cots in the office when they stay at my parents.  One morning Katie woke up early and snuck into bed to cuddle with my Dad.  Mikey woke up and immediately goes to the bathroom.  He then walked into my parents room and saw that my Dad was still sleeping (he didn't see Katie), he then went back to the office and then looked around the house but did not see Katie.  He walks back into my parents room and is at this point crying hysterically saying "I lost Katie baby!"

Things that come out of a two year old's mouth

Scenario 1:
Daddy: "Katie, you're such a little peanut!"
Katie: "No, I'm a big peanut!"

Scenario 2:
On the days when Katie takes a nap, she will usually stay awake for another hour and get some one-on-one special time with Scott and I.  She is always very sweet and lovable during this time.  I gave her a close hug and smelled the back of her neck.....no more baby smell!

Mommy:  "Katie, you don't have that baby smell anymore.  You lost that baby smell!"
Katie: "Ut-oh, where did it go?! We have to find it."

Indeed, we have to find it, but I'm afraid it's lost forever.  She's just not a baby anymore.

Funny Phrases

Mikey has been extra sweet recently, with moments of being, hummmmmm, not so sweet.

Through out every day I hear him say things like this:

Mikey : "Mommy I love you."  "I missed you while you were on your field trip."
Mommy: "You mean cruise?"
Mikey: "Yeah, cruise."

Mikey: "Mommy, I missed you when I was at school." "I love you." "Come here cutie pie." "Let me give you a hug and kiss." "No Mom, on the lips!"

Just out of the blue one day.
Mikey:  "Hey Mom, did you know that sharks poop in the water?!" "Ewww, gross!"

Mikey: "Mom, STOP! I don't want you to talk.............EVER!"

The things that come out of a 2 year olds mouth.

Katie is hilarious, in case you don't already know that.  She is fast, knows exactly what she wants and makes sure you know it.

Katie:  Ohh, I have 3 dollars to buy money!

Katie (While putting up a few Christmas decorations):  Someone's birthday?!  (Singing) Happy Birthday to Jesus.  Ooooh, I LOVE CAKE!!

Katie: (Her baby doll was crying) Oh it's okay baby.  I've got you, I've got you. Shhh.

Funny Phrases

Mikey has said some very funny and logical and illogical things recently:

Scenario 1:
Me:  Mikey do you think you'd like a little Christmas Tree put up in your bedroom that we can decorate?
Mikey:  No, no little tree.  Presents don't fit under little tree.  We need a big tree so we can have lots of presents.

Scenario 2:
Mikey: When I'm older I want to work at a building like Daddy.

Scenario 3:
Mikey:  Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom.
Me:  What Mikey?
Mikey: Nothing.

Scenario 4:
Mikey: Lots of people live in New York City and Connecticut. Are we done living in Connecticut?  We should live in New York City but we don't live there now.

Scenario 5:
Mikey:  If a stranger comes into your house you have to call Police Officer.

Scenario 6:
(October is Fire Prevention Month so the fire dept. came to the kids school and they learned all about fire safety)
Mikey: If you are on fire you have to stop, drop and roll.

Scenario 7:
(After I served him overcooked eggs for breakfast)
Mikey: You're the best cooker Mom!

He tells me I'm the best cooker and best baker all the time now!  So sweet.

Things that come out of a 2 year olds mouth

Katie has been saying some things lately that crack me up and I wanted to document it before this phase ends which will be all too soon.

Scenario 1: (While putting diaper cream on her after a diaper change) "But I don't want sour cream!"

Scenario 2: (After just having gone no. 2 in her diaper) "It's okay, it's just a little one.  Ooooooh, my butt is warm!"

Scenario 3: (About to taste eggnog for the first time) "Mmmmm, it smells like tasty!"

Quote of the day~

Mikey (while whining): "But I don't know where my manners are!"

Monday, June 17, 2013

Funny phrases

Mikey has been a little congested and we think it might be allergies.  While we wait a few days to see if it goes away or if it's here to stay and he needs some medication he's been fighting a cough and has had lots of boogies.  While getting him to blow his nose and get those boogers out he said....

"Mom, put those boogies back in my nose.  I don't want to breathe!"

At night time he has been super sweet and says:

"Good night, Katie, sweet heart."

He really has some great manners if I do say so myself and frequently says please, thank you and your welcome....but he adds a little something extra and will say:

"Your welcome, cutie pie."

Warms my heart to hear him say that!

We also talk a lot about eating healthy foods to grow big and strong and have big muscles and happy bellies and the other day Mikey said:

"I don't want healthy food, I want sick food!"
