Carl Schurz Summertime Concert Series

We headed down to one of our favorite parks that is close to our house, Carl Shurz, one evening after dinner for a simple walk along the East River, stopping to look at and pet the dogs, look for boats (Mikey also looks for sharks) in the East River, a quick romp in the sandbox, swing on the swings and then walk home. All in all our little evening trips are about 1 hour long before we head home and get ready for bed....however tonight we ran into their Summer Concert that they have on Tuesday evenings.

I love that you can turn a corner in NYC and find a concert, or parade, or protesters, or artists/musicians! What a happy surprise to find live music, free food, a balloon clown, free kids stuff, and a warm, community feel environment.  We danced, blew bubbles, had free nachos, juice, water, ice cream with toppings from Shake Shack, received 2 police hats, a police badge, rubber bands in the shapes of a fire truck, hat, 911 and a badge....all for FREE!  Yes, I coudn't believe you could actually get free stuff in NYC.  It was a great time and we all went home happy and with smiles on our faces as we fell asleep.  Some days, we just L.O.V.E NYC and today was one of them!

Sitting enjoying his lollipop and ice cream.

Katie liked the chocolate ice cream.

Playing with their hats on.

He loves his hat!

Hard to argue with this police chief.
