Playground Romps Tuesday

This past Tuesday and Friday the weather has been so nice that I've been taking the kids outside all day, literally.  We have breakfast, get dressed, the kids play while I pack snacks and lunch and out we go!

Tuesday we started our morning at Pyramid Playground (85th and 5th) which is one of our favorites, then headed to the Safari Playground (91st and Central Park West) to take a closer look at the hippos.  This would be a great playground during summer to get wet however besides the hippos there were 2 tree house structures and that was it! Thought there would be more there.  After that we went to Mariner's Playground (86th and Central Park West) another favorite and played until lunch time!

I love the fact that Katie is now old enough to walk around the playground and even play in the sandbox instead of keeping her in the stroller.  This way they both get tired out!  Beware bigger kids in the sandbox: if you try to take Katie's shovel or bucket from her you will run away with your ears ringing. Haha.

We met our friend Mary and her baby Quinn for lunch and tried out a new place that just opened on the west side called Sugar and Plumm It was yum, yum!  I have to remember to take Scott back there on 78th and Amsterdam.  I ordered the Grain Salad and Mary had the American Panini and both were delicious!  Very cute restaurant and had a little store front to even buy sweets at. From there we walked to Trader Joe's in Columbus Circle. I don't think I've ever seen a grocery store line so long.  We got the usual snacks that we purchased at the Trader Joe's back home.  It was great seeing a sign that said "Higher cost of living doesn't have to mean higher cost of food!"  Their prices were the same as every other Trader Joe's!  Love that!

Don't worry our day wasn't over yet!  We headed back to Mary's to hang out and play with Quinn and all his toys and jump on their couch!  Mikey loved playing with the hose on her back patio and Katie and Quinn loved munching on snacks.  Those 2 are pretty cute together.

We then walked the 2 miles back home and got home right at 4:45, leaving me just enough time to feed 2 hungry kids, then quick bath and bed.  Sleeping by 6:45!  I call that success.  I, myself couldn't keep my eyes open after 9pm.  Today tired me out too!

At the Safair Playground.  Cute hippos to climb on.

Climbing higher.  It's amazing how he can turn anything into something dangerous.

Katie liked them too and kept giving them hugs.

Hippo receiving a hug from Mikey.

Taking a break at Mariner's Playground.

Break time over.  Let the rodeo begin!

Getting filthy sliding down the ramp.

Ahhh, boys.

Pretty Sugar and Plumm Cafe.

They had a gorgeous tiled mural on the back wall.
