TCS NYC Marathon Expo

This morning I drove into the city to go to the marathon expo at the Javits Center in Manhattan.  Every single runner needed to go to the expo to pick up their race day info, bib, shirt, etc.  It was mayham when I got there about lunch time on Friday.  The line to get into the expo was 7 blocks long.  It was insane!

I skipped part of the line and went into some doors pretending I didn't understand English because I was so sick of waiting in line. Once inside, getting my packet was a piece of cake.  I then weaved my way through a few booths that were set up and made my way upstairs for a few pictures, before waiting for the shuttle to take me to Grand Central so I could take the train home.  This way, my car was in the city to drive home after the race.

My bib #. Wave 4 Corral C and the orange start village.
Can't wait to cross the real finish line!

Happy Halloween 2014

Happy Halloween everyone!

We had a very low key Halloween here at home.  Mainly due to both kids getting sick.  Michael picked up something at Pump It Up and was sick on Wednesday and Thursday night.  Katie got sick on Thursday night and Friday night.  They both were throwing up and have fevers close to 104.  It was a rough few nights for all but some medicine and laying low and popsicles did the trick. I was freaking out and didn't want to get sick because of my race and luckily I didn't. We just went to a few houses on Friday as the kids were so excited and really wanted to show off their costumes.  I didn't want to try and explain to them later that there was no Halloween this year since they were sick so out the door we went for 20 mins. By the time Friday night rolled around Mikey was all better but Katie still wasn't feeling well so she was a good 20 steps behind Michael all night.

Princess Aurora - Sleeping Beauty

Ghostbuster Michael.

Katie can I get a nice picture of us?!

That one is nice.  Okay - now a close up.

What's with the silly face Katie?!

So silly with his hat pulled way over his head and face.

Here we go with Papa leading the way.

Papa with his grandkids.

At their first house. They yelled trick or treat at just about every house.
All the neighbors did the same thing and held the candy at their level.  Mikey would grab one or two pieces and as he talked Katie just kept grabbing.  Eventually, Scott or I would have to say that they need to remove the bowl from their reach, otherwise Katie would grab all their candy.

This house had all kinds of decorations.

Katie and her loot.

Mikey and his treats.  Enjoying a lolli.

Aunt Erica sent skeleton PJ's for the kids.  They were so cute!

Katie still not feeling well.  Hope she is better in time for her surgery.

Michael's 5th Birthday!!

I can't believe our son is 5! 5 years old already!  He's been wanting to be 5 since he has been 2 and every birthday he asks, am I 5 yet?!  So this year we celebrated big and had his birthday at Pump It Up! It's a birthday type place filled with all different kinds of inflatables.  He had the best time and his entire class was able to make it.

Since it was close to Halloween and because he is obsessed with Ghostbusters, we had a Ghostbusters themed party.  I'm not sure if the rest of his class knew who they were but our boy did and that's all that matters.

Glow in the dark slime, AKA Ecto Plasm for the favor bags.

The favor bags turned out cute. Lime green bags with a balloon punching bag, ecto plasm, a ghost on a stick, bubbles and a glow stick and silly straw.

I had just enough time to finish his cake, but not enough time to do my hair.  Priorities!

A little snack for the kids after school, since his party was right after. Ghost bananas.

Party room all set up!

Mikey climbing up the mountain.

They had Halloween inflatables decorating the place.

I had fun going down the slide!

Daddy helping the boys build a fort.

Katie had a great time.  She is fearless!

On to the next room! Mikey was the line leader as the birthday boy.

We added the glow in the dark option for his party.  It was so cool!

All the kiddos at his party!

They all looked flush and tired.  Good!

Silly photo!

Beating up Scott with their balloons.

Singing Happy Birthday!

Make a wish....

....and blow out the candles!

Mikey always does this silly face!

Present time!

He was so excited and knew how to rip into all those presents!

Before we knew it, our living room looked like Christmas morning.

A Ghostbusters back pack was one of the gifts.

Putting together a lego airplane.

He does so great following the lego instructions with minimal help now.

He wanted a picture in front of some things he put together.
 At 5 Michael loves:

  • Ghostbusters
  • Draw with colored pens.  You should see the amount of printer paper we go through!
  • Legos
  • playing Mario Brothers on his Nintendo
  • Going for walks
  • Playing outside
  • Eating carbs
He wants to be a Ghostbuster when he grows up.
His favorite color is blue, red, orange.
His favorite number is 100.
His favorite food is  bacon.
His favorite show is Curious George
His best friend is Daddy and Rohan.
He wants to go on vacation to South West.
His favorite game is drawing.

I also asked him how many kids he wants to have when he gets married and his response: "Mom, I'm going to be a Ghostbuster and they don't get married and have kids. They just work."
