Croton Gorge Park

We met up with friends one last time before school started and decided to take in the natural beauty of the Hudson Valley and go on a hike!  We went to Croton Gorge Park for a nice, leisurely hike that had great views all around.

This area that we live in is so breathtaking and to think that we really aren't that far outside of NYC.  Must explore this area more!

Waterfall, part natural, part man made.
Katie and I.  We always have so much fun together!

Views from the top of the aqueduct.

Views from the top of the aqueduct.

More views from the top.

Kiddos taking in the sites....Carly, Mikey, Katie and Jacob.
I decided to take in the view too!

More views of the lake spilling over the rocks.

The kids all had a turn swinging on this tree branch.

They even did some rock climbing on this natural rock wall.

We saw this huge snapping turtle taking a rest as he was trying to cross the road.  I joked with the park ranger that it must have taken him at least a week to climb up the little hill near the edge of the road.
