Greenwich Reindeer Festival and Holiday Stroll

We decided to brave the cold winter weather and go to the Greenwich Holiday Stroll.  They had lots of stuff to do:  See live reindeer and get your photo with Santa, ride on a horse drawn carriage, pet horses, live holiday singing performances, professional ice sculpture demos, bouncy castles, food trucks, holiday art workshop, and letter writing to Santa among other things.

I was really looking forward to riding on a horse drawn carriage, however it was freezing.  Did I mention that?!  Oh and after about 60 minutes Katie was practically crying because she was so cold and shivering even though we bundled her all up!

We stayed as long as we could about 90 minutes before it was time for us to go.  Both kids crying and over tired didn't make it worth it for us to stay.  Once we got to the car we changed Katie's diaper.  She was soaked and had gone #2.  No wonder she was a hot mess!

Scott telling Katie to come see Santa at McArdle's Florist Shop.

Katie and I surrounded by elaborately decorated trees and lots of over priced and expensive ornaments.

A beautiful display and Santa?  We took the kids here to see Santa but upon closer inspection, Santa looked very tan and had more grey hair than white hair.  Definitely not a good Santa.  Also, to sit with Santa you HAD to purchase a photo package.  The photographer only took 2 pictures and you had to buy one.  What if both weren't good?  I didn't want to be stuck spending $40 on a bad Santa photo.  So we got the kids to focus their attention on something else while we slipped out.  Oh, and if you have money to waste you can buy a 4 foot spruce tree for only $275! This place was ridiculous! I think the Santa at the mall is much better, or maybe I'll take the kids to see Santa at Macy's in the city.

Bad Santa

This 3 foot tall tree can be yours for $350.  Each ornament on it was over $50.

The reindeer were standing when we left.

Lunch at the Lobster Craft food truck.  It was amazing! I had the classic lobster roll sandwich.  Fantastic!

Kids had a grilled cheese and fries from Fryborg.  They had a ton of different dips and sauces to choose from.

My lobster lunch came with a side of lobster mac n cheese and chips.

Santa walking down the street in Greenwich.

Fire trucks and an ambulance followed Santa.

The ice sculpture for today was a tree.

Saturday's ice sculpture was Santa.
