Brookfield Zoo - Our First Visit!!

While Nana was in town we decided to put our Zoo membership to use and visit the Brookfield Zoo. http://www.brookfieldzoo.org/
It's a 20 minute drive (without traffic) from our home right off exit 20.  It's a HUGE Zoo and there is so much to see, do and learn.
Here are just a few of the animals:  Aardvarks, alligators, crocodiles, baboons, bats, bears, birds, bison, camels, dolphins, frogs, toads, giraffs, gorillas, hippopotamuses, insects, kangaroos, lemurs, leopards, snow leopards, lions, monkeys, oranguatans, penguins, rhinoceroses, sea lions, sharks, snakes, spiders, tigers, turtles, tortoises, wolves, zebras, brown bear, polar bear, antelope, wild horses, okapi, goats, eagles, condors, reindeer, lamas, owls, chickens.

The have a petting zoo, dolphin show, playgrounds, and our new personal favorite, a merry-go-round.

They let you take in food and drink too.  We probably would have spent much more time there during our first visit, but it was in the high 80's and we would walk back and forth from one side of the side walk to the other side, just so we could walk in the shade.  Also, having the membership, we knew would could come back everyday if we wanted.

Camels

Zebra

Giraffe

Polar Bear who came right up to the window.

This is a Mikey Monkey after the zoo in 80 plus degree heat with no nap.  He fell
asleep almost instantly once we were back in the car.
