Finger Lakes Wine Touring

Since we were only a little over an hour from the Finger Lakes Region in NY we decided to spend Saturday going wine touring. (I snuck in a run in the morning to void out some wine calories later in the day.) It was our first time going wine touring since 2008 when Scott and I went to Napa and Sonoma Valley over Thanksgiving and we knew that this would be a much different experience with 2 kids in tow.

We started at (Casa Larga Vineyard).  It was still early in the morning so it was a nice and relatively quiet vineyard with amazing views of the valley.  We didn't have to share it with too many people.  They also had a fun outdoor space that we spent some time in before driving to the next vineyard.

Mikey found a chocolate covered marshmallow.  Apparently he was so excited he held it up as if it was a trophy.

Some embellished chocolate they cut to make look like pizza so they could overcharge.

Lots of wines for sale that won impressive awards.

Their award winning Riesling, my favorite type of wine.

Lots of wines to choose from during our tasting.

Angela and Mike.

We purchased wines to take home including "Sparkle".  This is coming on our girls trip in Nov!

A cute little hay maze perfect size for the little ones.

The bug and I posing as grapes!

Mikey ran and ran up and down the vineyard twice!
Next vineyard was (Fox Run Vineyard).  By the time we arrived it was packed!  Finger Lake wine tasting is a serious business on the weekends.  This vineyard had a gorgeous view of Seneca Lake and an extensive wine tasting.  They even had grape juice for the kids to enjoy.  A few purchased bottles later and we decided to call it a day.  Francesca was having a rough day and we all thought it was better spent doing activities tailored to the smaller crowd.

Mikey sipping his grape juice and enjoying the view of the orchard.

Katie liked her grape juice too!

Scott and Mike Foster.

Our day wouldn't be complete without some chasing.  I love Mikey's face in this photo.
