This morning we decided to take the kids to see Santa at Santaland in Macy's and then wander around the city. Well we got there later than I wanted to considering it was a last minute decision and the line to see Santa was 90 mins. long. Ummm, no thank you! We'll be back another day.
So we wandered around Macy's a little bit then headed outside to see the window displays. They did an awesome job and were so detailed and parts of each window had some type of movement. The kids were mesmerized and that actually allowed Scott and I to have a full uninterrupted conversation!
We then walked up to Times Square, which on a Sunday morning, is the opposite of what you normally envision when you think of Times Square. People were sparse, it was quiet and you could actually look all around instead of trying to fight your way through the crowds.
We made it to Toys R Us for some holiday shopping and of course we had to go on the ferris wheel. It was impossible to miss as it takes center stage in the store. We were one car short of getting to ride in the Fire Truck car, and instead were in the Geoffrey the Giraffe car. It was a long ride and the kids loved looking all around.
After Toys R Us we stopped for some lunch in mid-town and went to see the Rockerfeller Tree but had to come home before we saw it. We'll see it soon!

This Mickey and Minnie sure looked um.... a little worse for wear compared to the Mickey and Minnie at Disney World.
I guess NYC will do that to you. |

A nice ad in Times Square. |
