Thanksgiving Luncheon at School

Today the kids held a Thanksgiving luncheon at school for the parents.  It was really cute.  The 3's and 4's classes even put on a little Thanksgiving concert for us and they dressed up as little Pilgrims and Indians.  The lunch spread was delicious too and after eating the kids all got to run around and play together before having a little dessert and then playing some more.  It made for a long day at school but was a lot of fun.

I wish the grandparent's could have been there and Scott too (he had a meeting with people from London and could not get out of it or change the time) but it's okay.  I took lots of video so you grandparent's can feel like you were in on the action.

Happy Early Thanksgiving :)

The 3's and 4's classes.  Mikey's class was dressed as Indians and the 4's were pilgrims. Mikey is in the second row, second from the right.

Getting ready to perform.

I love how he patted the top of Katie's head.

So proud of his performance!  He wanted to wear this the rest of the day.

Some Indian love.  Can you tell it's close to Katie's nap.

More snuggles.  It's typical for them to hug after school.  Glad I finally had my camera with me to capture it.

Enjoying lunch with my strong Indian and hungry Katie bug.

Enjoying a cupcake.  She loves cake....but you already knew that!

Enjoy the video's below.

Crafts that were part of the centerpiece at the luncheon.  Little turkeys made out of pine cones.

Mikey's 4 year checkup

Mikey had his 4 year check up at the doctors today.  He received 3 shots which he was not happy about and persisted to be upset almost the entire drive home.  He was also weighted, and measured and had his vision checked along with being a very cooperative patient for the doctor.  All in all great reviews.

The doctor was a little perplexed as to why Mikey was in the 10% for height when he saw how tall I was.  I had to explain that Daddy was not so lucky to have height. :)  Love you hunny!

Mikey was 33.5 lbs and 38 inches tall.  Putting him in the 15-25% for weight and 10% for height.  He's our little guy and we love him to pieces!

Last year for his 3 year check up he weighted 28 lbs and was 36 inches tall.

One down, one to go.

We have one kid now fully potty trained around the clock and another one who is starting to show interest.

I finally ran out of night time diapers and refused to buy any more.  I simply told Mikey the store does not have diapers and did not order more.  The store ran out.  We never really used pull ups properly and we treated them more as diapers than underwear and Mikey knew that he could go pee in them when he wore them at night time.  So I figured now was as good a time as any.

One night we gave him little to drink at dinner and did not let him drink like a camel when he brushed his teeth.  We took him potty right before bed and Scott or I have been waking up in the middle of the night to wake him up to relieve himself before going right back to bed.  We are now on day 7 and he had only one accident because rather than waking up at 12 or 1 to get him to the potty we both slept until nearly 4.

Pretty easy and I'm so glad I don't have to buy diapers for him anymore.  Should have done this long ago.  Now time to focus on Katie.

Funny Phrases

Scenario 1:  (Mikey):  Apples come from the letter A sound.

Scenario 2: (Mikey): Mom, you are looking fine and beautiful today.

Scenario 3: (Mikey): Hey Dad, I want to go back to our apartment.  I'm done playing in this house.

Scenario 4: (Mikey, saying with his voice filled with pity ) (While I am driving 3 hours to PA to my parents home): I know Mom, I know, it's hard driving to Nana and Papa's house.  I know.  It's okay.  Just follow the map. We will be there soon!

Scenario 5: (Mikey) (We told the kids they can each get one treat and one souvenir per day that we go to Disney) I am so excited to go to Disney World.  I get to pick out a toy, maybe Bumblebee or a thing like, thing that changes lots of colors.  Okay Dad?!

DPP event with Spouses

Tonight Scott had a work event in NYC and it was an extra special event because all the spouses were invited for the first time! So I was determined to go!  You wouldn't believe how hard it was to find a babysitter for a Wednesday evening, but alas I finally found one through the church and we got to all meet her and her mom the night before and she was a perfect fit and I think our go to babysitter from now on.

The kids were happy and we were happy.  I really enjoyed going to a hot spot in NYC at 230 Fifth.  A rooftop bar in Manhattan.  I really missed seeing all my friends from NY so it was fun to catch up with them and also talk and get introduced to people Scott has worked with the past 2 years.  It was so nice to put a face with a name.

Just one of the many rooms this bar had.

A heated rooftop bar overlooking Manhattan.  It was so pretty!

Another room.  This was the room our event was in.  Food and an open bar and friends led to a fun evening.

One of my views.

A selfie.  We were the first to arrive by a solid 20 minutes so I was just wasting time.

Church, Steeple, People

I sang a song to Katie a few days ago and she now tries to copy me.  Here's her version:

Thank you Jesus

Mikey has learned some songs at school for the upcoming Thanksgiving Potluck luncheon.  One of the songs has really stuck with him as he sings it literally 20 times a day in our home.

I normally would be playing Christmas music this time of year but I kinda enjoy listening to Mikey's sweet music better.
