Mothers Day Weekend Roundup

Mother's Day was filled with church, shopping, slides, sun, bears, parks, paint, hugs, a card, kisses, sunset and food that I didn't have to cook!  Confused as to how all that can fit into one day?  Well it did, except for the paint and shopping!  Let me explain.....

On Saturday, we did our usual in the morning, which is going to Carl Schurz Park.  We had some silly time in the morning then played hard, and swinging high on swings.  In the afternoon, Scott watched the kids so I could have some well deserved time to myself to do whatever I wanted to do.  I ended up going shopping in midtown.  I actually purchased a few things and had a great 3.5 hours to myself.  While I was away Scott and the kids made me a mothers day card, filled with crayons, paint and markers.

On Sunday (Mother's Day) I was getting lots of smiles, kisses and hugs from the kids in ed and they gave me the sweet Mothers Day card they made filled with scribbles and even Katie's handprint. We went to church then took a nice, slow, long walk up to Central Park and went to the Mariner's Playground and had the park almost to ourselves.  It was a beautiful day with perfect weather.  On the walk back we stopped by to see the 3 bears and get a quick photo op.

We ordered some yummy lunch from close by and the kids took a long nap at the same time!  I love it when that happens. 

In the evening we enjoyed the sites from the rooftop deck!

Bronx Zoo

Today was a perfect day for the Zoo!  We went to the Bronx Zoo with our friends Mary and Quinn (5 mos.).  The Zoo was huge and Mikey spent most of the day walking/running around the park.  (He slept really great that nite!)

There were so many animals to see but sadly we only saw maybe 5% of the animals.  We were to busy talking/walking around to really stop to see things.  We did go into the butterfly pavillion, see giraffe's (Mikey's favorite), tigers, peacocks, koi fish, antelope, ducks, seals and a few other animals. 

It's a quick 15 min. drive from where we live.  I think we will buy a membership and have lots of future visits there.

Katie was with us too although I didn't get any pictures of her on this trip.

Jamie's Bridal Shower

We had Jamie's bridal shower on May 6th and it turned out to be a great party for all the females!
We had lots of yummy food (cold soups, yogurt parfait bar, sherbert punch, salads and finger sandwiches), fun games and Jamie received a ton of presents! Best of all was the hat, made out of the ribbons and bows.  We are excited and really looking forward to her wedding on June 2nd!
We also got to meet baby Joey who is about 7 weeks old now.  He's so tiny and Katie looked like a monster next to him.  She wasn't sure what to think!

Katie at 9 months

Katie hit the 9 month mark today!  We have recently started calling her, our firecracker!  She has some spunk to her and knows what she wants! She is hungry all the time and wants what you're having to eat!!  She loves to watch and interact with Mikey and can roll all over the floor and push her self backwards.  She's getting better at tummy time and can even sit up from a laying position.

She had her 9 month check up and she is 18 lbs. 14 oz (50%) and 26 inches long (35%).

Weekend at Home

We went back to PA the first weekend in May for some festivities.  We celebrated Bryan's First Communion and Jamie's Bridal Shower.  A double whammy if you will.....2 events in 2 days.

The kids had so much fun playing with all the cousins and family.  Here's some pics from our trip!

Water Fight!

Remember the picture I posted of Mikey cutting the grass at Nana's and Papa's and getting all hot and flushed and sweaty?  Well that day ended in a water fight.  Initially it started as squirting water here and there but of course it didn't stop there.  Pretty soon, shirts, shorts, shoes....everything was soaked.  I have a good soaking of Mikey on video below.

Mikey had so much fun, he didn't want to stop, even though he was shivering and his lips were blue. Poor little guy.  Each night the kids jumped on the trampoline to get rid of that last little spurt of energy before bed. ( Next time I'll have to take pics. of them on the trampoline.  We were having so much fun, I forgot to take pics.)

Doggie!

While we were in PA for a visit, there was one family member which Katie seemed to notice for the first time.  It was our dog Bailey.  My parents graciously offered to watch her for us while we are living in NYC.  Katie showed her excitement anytime Bailey would approach or be within view by thrashing her arms wildly about and kicking her legs and wiggling her little toes and yelling and squealing.

She even said Doggie!  Seriously, she did.  I have video to prove it!!
