Indoor Water Park

At Massannutten Resort they had a huge, 86 degree water park.  We purchased a 3 day pass and had the best time.  We went all 3 days and really got our money worth.  They had a kiddie pool, a wave pool, a swimming pool and warm water pool (bath water temperature) and huge hot tub, 3 inner tube slides, 9  huge water slides, a huge water structure with hoses and sprinklers and water play structures everywhere, a generated boogie board section and a lazy river among a few other things I'm forgetting.

It was a lot of fun and really sucked the energy out of all the kids.

Part of the kiddie pool.

Ready to swim.

Little baby bouncer in the pool.

Joey loved it!

Mikey is a total fish in the water.
Going down the frog slide.

Joey even went down the slide.

Erica and Joey.

Joey just loved the lazy river.  He was practically in a coma state of mind and completely relaxed while just floating around and around again and again and again and again and again.

Mikey and Katie liked the lazy river too with tunnels to go under and water falls to go under or try and escape from.

Taking a little snack break.

Katie baby fell asleep.

Another part of the kiddie pool.

Exhausted at 5pm.

The huge play structure in the middle of the indoor water park.

Mikey adjusting the water jets by turning the wheel.

Going down a water slide by himself.

He makes a little splash.

Pretty girl awake from her nap.

Mikey going down one of the big water slides by himself on the last day.
Update:  I forgot to mention that Katie went down this water slide too.  The big red one you see in the pictures above and below.  Yup.  She is completely fearless which can be good but is bad too.  Once she saw Mikey go down she wanted to go down so I went down first while Jamie stayed at the top with Katie.  The water slide attendant told Jamie and Katie when she could go down and Jamie said she sat down and pushed herself off at the top with no hesitation and I was at the bottom to get her.  When she came out the bottom she was on her belly face first.  We got a laugh out of it because somewhere along the water slide she must have had a wipe out because to go down the slide you have to be sitting with your feet in front of you.  She loved it and wanted to go again. I told her once was enough!  She is such a stinker!
I got to go down the water slides too!

Mikey going down the frog slide.
Even 10 year old Bryan was worn out.

My napping princess.

She was nice and cozy for 2.5 hours in the makeshift bed at the water park.

By the third day Mikey was really comfortable in the water.  He decided to go down one of the large water slides.  He had to ride by himself; their rules.  He also was swimming by himself in the pool.  Held his breath, head in the water, kicking his arms and legs for 5 to 10 seconds at a time and swimming about 10 feet to get to me.  So proud of him.  He was proud too!

Tubing and Zip lining

Continued from the previous post.

Here is a video I took when I was zip lining.  I wanted you to experience it with me! I didn't get video at the very end because I had to tuck into a ball before crashing into the end of the zip line.  Apparently the worker said I did a pretty impressive 360 at the end.

Mikey wanted to go tubing.  He loved it and I even got a squeal out of him.  I took video of that too!
He loves sledding in the winter so this was a fun summer/fall alternative.

The tubing section on the mountain side.  See the dark green section.  We are about to tube down it.

Riding on the 700 foot motorized walkway to the top.
Getting in the tube.  About to go down!

Video of us tubing.  Listen for his squeal.  He loved it!

Day of Adventure at Massannutten Resort

Today was our day of adventure at the resort.  Everyone (except Baby Joey) did something.  We had so much fun so won't you come along with us and enjoy the ride. :)

We started our morning by going to the farm and petting zoo and pony ride part of the resort.

Breath taking views from the farm / petting zoo.

Mikey checking out the horses.

Katie's first ride on a horse.

She is so fearless.  I want to be as fearless as her.

Bryan rode on one too.  Mikey did not.

Sisters: Me, Jamie and Erica

I wanted Bryan to take a picture of us with the valley and mountains in the back ground.  See picture below of the view from where we were.  Bryan just wasn't tall enough to get the view behind us.

Jamie and Bryan

See video of Katie riding on her horse, Jose above.

After the zoo we went on a hike at the base of the mountain. An easy, flat hike since we had little kiddos with us and it was freezing.  The higher up we go the colder it got!

Bundled up and staying on the trail.

Erica and Joey

Joey did great walking.

A creek to play near.

The trail opened up to this huge open space with a play ground to play on.

After the hike we went up the mountain a little farther to the Adventure Center area.  Bryan went on the kids adventure course that was pretty awesome.  I wanted to go on it!  Mikey really wanted to go on it too.  He met the height and weight requirement but not the age requirement.  You have to be 5.  Maybe next year!

After Bryan was done with course it was time to head over to the zip line / tubing section.  Bryan and Jamie went zip lining and then Erica and I went.  It was my first time and was thrilling and although the zip line was 800 feet long it was over all to fast.

Getting instructions and their equipment on.

A quick pic. and maybe their last if they survive!

That's Jamie about 200 in the air.

Here was Bryan.  Holding on tight!

Jamie and Bryan on the landing strip.

Bryan loved it!

Erica all geared up.

I'm ready to go to.  I sucked in my stomach when they were getting the harnesses on me and could barely breath!

We are excited! My first time zip lining.

Check out that view!

I'm trying to act excited, even though I'm nervous.

Really hoping this harness holds.

Still excited!

After our zip lining I took Mikey tubing.  See the next post for pictures and videos on that and my zip lining experience.  This post is a little to long to add it here.
